When: Saturday March 13th 2021 11-1 pm
Find your favorite postcard or use included ephemera provided and join Nathalie Smith of Lula Faye Fiber to explore your creative side and set your 2021 travel plans with colorful tapestry weaving. Sketch with yarn and fibers as well as natural found objects finding inspiration in your surroundings, in nature, and in art.
We will discuss:
Weaving inspiration and ideas
Learn how to warp a tapestry loom
Learn about some different materials and techniques in weaving
Ideas for finishing and hanging
-A bag of various yarns, fabrics, warp
-Some ephemera/postcards from different sources I’ve collected over the years
-A small lap loom
-A Zine for reference
Bring what ever else inspires you (postcards, paper, found objects from nature)!
About Lula Faye Fiber: Nathalie is a fiber artist in Boulder, Colorado with a deep appreciation for natural fibers and folk art. She finds inspiration in the textile and weaving process inherent in all cultures around the world as well as how textile manufacturing has changed through time.
